About

Maya Carpenter is a multidisciplinary artist and art teacher. She studied environmental design and landscape architecture at UC Berkeley, and her art is influenced by a love for the natural world and her goal of understanding and processing the systems in which we create art. Trained at Silvera Jewelry School and Studio One Art Center, Maya’s metalwork practice centers found, secondhand, and upcycled materials as she explores techniques like casting, soldering, and shaping metal. She is excited to continue expanding her understanding of material and sculpture through other mediums, including linocut printmaking, wood carving, and ceramics.
