Maya Carpenter is a multidisciplinary artist and jewelrymaking instructor. She studied environmental design and landscape architecture at UC Berkeley, and her art is influenced by a love for the natural world, and a fascination with sculpture and tactile mediums. Trained at Silvera Jewelry School and Studio One Art Center, Maya’s metalwork practice centers found, secondhand, and upcycled materials as she explores techniques like casting, soldering, and shaping metal. She is excited to continue expanding her understanding of material through linocut printmaking, wood carving, and ceramics.
